Global Health Security Trainings
UCSF’s Center for Pandemic Preparedness and Response offers several online trainings in various topics of global health security. Some trainings are independent online self-study and others include live, virtual meetings. Most of our trainings are available on CPPR Learn, CPPR's online learning management system.
Trainings
Introduction to Event-Based Surveillance (EBS)
Learn the foundational concepts, processes and skills of event-based surveillance. From detecting signals to mounting swift responses, you will gain the basic knowledge and tools needed to identify, assess and respond to public health events with precision and impact. This training includes five interactive self-study modules that you can complete at your own pace. The total learning time is about four to five hours.
This course is open to the public and is available in English, Spanish and Arabic. You will receive a record of completion when you finish.
In addition to the EBS self-study component, we also offer asynchronous trainings, tailored to specific regions. During these asynchronous trainings, learners will meet via Zoom with an EBS instructor for orientation and two separate module overviews. Between these sessions, participants can complete the modules at their own pace within a designated time frame. We have successfully provided these trainings in Paraguay, Ecuador and Oman.
