Jess Celentano

MPH
Managing Director

Jess Celentano provides programmatic direction and leadership to the UCSF Pandemic Initiative for Equity and Inclusion (UPIEA) team. In close collaboration with the San Francisco Department of Public Health, Jess and a small group of colleagues built San Francisco’s contact-tracing platform from the ground up, and then translated lessons learned and best practices into state and nation-wide trainings for COVID-19 contact tracers and case investigators. Jess is motivated by the incredible community of San Francisco’s librarians, assessors, city attorneys, students, and volunteers that have fully dedicated themselves to contact tracing in service of ensuring the city’s most vulnerable and disproportionately impacted populations receive critical information, services and care.
